The Black Alder

It's June, 1973. You were waiting at the bus stop on the morning of the last day of school, daydreaming about your summer plans. But then something terrible happened, and you're somewhere else now. The news outlets called him The Black Alder. In this survival-horror card game, the player assumes the role of a male adolescent who has been abducted by a prowling serial killer. Explore his labyrinthian lair for items, weapons, or clues that might help your chances, and find the exit before he finds you. Make no mistake, you are not safe here. You’re not the first to try and escape from this house. This game uses two 6-sided dice, pencil and paper, and an ordinary deck of playing cards. It is recommended that you print out the game booklet for greater ease. Trigger Warning: This game contains difficult subject matter which may be deeply upsetting or harmful to some players. This includes but is not limited to themes of child abduction, bodily harm, threats of violence, questioning your memories and perceptions, forced consumption of illicit substances, and death or harm coming to minors. While it does not contain explicit descriptions of sexual violence, it does touch on sexual themes. If at any point a prompt crosses into territory you would rather not explore, put it aside and do not engage with it.
